How often should you service it?

In practice, most owners change the oil every 5,000 to 10,000 km depending on the oil used and how the car is driven, with a bigger service about once a year. What to check at every service
- Engine oil and filter: fully synthetic oil and a genuine filter.
- Air filter: sand clogs it quickly, which costs power and fuel.
- Brakes: a heavy 4×4 wears pads and discs faster, especially in city traffic.
- Tyres and alignment: check pressure, wear and the DOT date. Desert trips and kerbs knock the alignment out.
- Battery: heat shortens battery life, so test it before summer.
- AC: filters, gas level and condenser condition.
- Fluids and belts: coolant, brake fluid, transmission and differential oils, and drive belts.
